Speciality Dispersions and Pastes
With the ability to create consistent, rheologically stable dispersions for
printable inks and pastes, Five Star can offer unique solutions to the manufacturers
of complex structures such as solar cells and flat panel displays. Independent
of the deposition methodology, our technology can deliver unique rheological
systems for demanding applications such as plasma, LCD and touch screens.
The
ability to precisely deposit materials with well-defined features can reduce
or eliminate many cumbersome manufacturing processes (such as photolithography,
etching and other ablation methods) in the construction of such devices. This
can result in size and weight reduction of the end product and materials savings
in addition to elimination of unnecessary waste streams.
Five Star’s
current focus is conductive dispersions, such as those containing Ag, indium-tin
oxides (ITO) and carbon-based materials such as nano-tubes. Dispersions containing
other types of materials such as glass, silica, etc. are under development
for various display and touch-screen applications.
