Gerard R. Weimann, President & CEO

Prior to joining Five Star Technologies, Weimann was Senior Operations Partner at MCM Capital, a venture capital investment firm, and served on the boards of many of MCM’s portfolio companies. He also worked actively with Early Stage Partners, another Cleveland-based venture capital firm, and had operating and board roles with that firm’s portfolio companies. Earlier, as CEO of Advanced Ceramics Corp., Weimann helped take the company’s boron nitride platform technology into such markets as microelectronics, cosmetic formulation, silicon wafer fabrication, laser and light-emitting diodes and consumer packaging. Over 11 years, those activities grew Advanced Ceramics’ revenues at an annual rate of more than 15% and multiplied earnings by a factor of 10. Weimann holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a B.S. in engineering from Lehigh University and is a member of the Young President’s Organization (YPO).

 
Marilyn A. Eisele, Chief Financial Officer

Eisele oversees Five Star’s financial and accounting matters, assists in all aspects of capital raising and is involved in the strategic and business development activities of the Company. Over the past six years, Eisele has advised and assisted numerous technology startup companies with the development and execution of evolving business models, strategic directions, financing, and business processes. Eisele has served as a CFO for more than ten years to a variety of both public and private companies and she brings to Five Star experience in a full range of management and financial responsibilities. After obtaining her undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University, Eisele was with PriceWaterhouseCoopers (formerly Coopers & Lybrand) for fifteen years serving both public and private companies with a specialization in mergers and acquisitions and high-growth businesses. Eisele has participated in raising over $80 million in private equity placements, multiple initial public offerings and secondary offerings and over thirty acquisitions.

Timothy E. Fahey, Vice President, Business Development

Fahey is Vice President, Business Development for Five Star Technologies, having joined Five Star in September 2004. Fahey heads all commercial and technology development efforts for the company, leading commercialization efforts in health and personal care products, drug delivery systems, catalysis, and electronic materials. Prior to joining Five Star, he was Global Business Director for the Static Control business of Noveon Inc. (formerly BF Goodrich Performance Materials). Fahey led the Static Control business since the 1996 acquisition of Mitech Corporation by BF Goodrich, developing that start-up business into a global supplier of leading-edge static control materials for data storage, chip handling, wafer management and cleanroom applications. Fahey holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Macromolecular Science from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

Oleg V. Kozyuk, Ph.D., Chief Scientist and Director of Research & Development / Co-Founder

Kozyuk is an accomplished scientist and has authored over 60 inventions and 26 scientific works, leading to over 90 patents granted worldwide. He is the creator of a field of study referred to as “Cavitation Techniques and Technology.” As Five Star’s Chief Scientist, he maintains direct responsibility for aspects of research and development associated with cavitation processing, new process designs, and intellectual property development. Kozyuk was born in Ukraine and graduated from the Kiev Technological Institute of Food Industry in 1977. In 1979, Kozyuk began working in the Scientific Research Laboratory of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute. In 1988, Kozyuk earned his Doctoral degree from Kiev Polytechnic Institute in a new scientific field that he created called “Cavitation Systems”. From 1989 to 1993, Kozyuk worked as Chief of the Scientific Research department of the “SPO Techenergochemprom.” Since coming to the United States in 1993, Kozyuk has continued to develop technical expertise in the field of cavitation processing. Kozyuk has developed cavitation-based process equipment for a wide range of applications.

Dana L. Hankey, Ph.D., Business Director, Electronic Materials

Hankey, Five Star’s Business Director of Electronic Materials, has been involved in the management of industrial technology-based and growth-oriented businesses ranging from high-tech start-up operations to core businesses with revenues exceeding $150 million. For the past 6 years he has been the primary partner and founder of Technology Business Development, LLC, a consulting firm in the specialty chemicals sector with a focus on electronic materials. Other assignments have included CEO of Superior MicroPowders, General Manager of Ferro Corporation’s Electronic Materials Division, R&D Director for Heraeus’ Cermalloy Division and member of the Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories. Hankey’s areas of expertise include electronic materials and related synthesis, flat panel display materials, photovoltaic materials, advanced ceramics, sensors, specialty powders and chemicals, and materials and processes in the nanotechnology sector. Hankey obtained his undergraduate degree in Materials Science from Wilkes College, an M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University, and his Ph. D. in Materials Science and Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.

Larry M. Cirjak, Ph.D., Technical Director

Cirjak leads Five Star’s research and development efforts in inorganic chemistry. Cirjak is an accomplished chemist with twenty-five years of industrial research and development experience. He has broad, hands-on experience in synthetic inorganic chemistry and hydrocarbon catalysis, as well as extensive experience and training in management of technology and Six Sigma. He has been granted 15 U.S. Patents. From 1999 to 2000, Cirjak served as a Senior Process Engineer, Quartz Metal Halide at GE Lighting where he was responsible for technical exchanges and qualification of a manufacturing plant with a joint venture partner. From 1980 to 1999, Cirjak held a variety of positions with BP Chemical Research & Development/ Standard Oil of Ohio, the most recent of which was Group Leader/ Research Scientist I where he was involved in the conception, planning and execution of many successful basic and applied research projects in solid state chemistry and catalysis. Cirjak has an A.B in Chemistry from Kenyon College and a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
